Inside Serenity Villa: Every Amenity, Explained

We built Serenity Villa for one kind of guest: two people who want to disappear for a few days. It sits on a mountaintop in Sharps Chapel, Tennessee, five minutes from Norris Lake, and everything inside it was chosen for a couple, not a crowd. Here's what you'll find, room by room.

The hot tub room

This is the heart of the house. Your private hot tub sits in its own room on the main level, behind a glass wall that lifts open, with a screen behind it. Open it and you're soaking in the mountain air with the sound of the woods around you. Close it and you're in a warm, glassed-in space that works as well in January as it does in July. It's yours 24 hours a day, every day of your stay.

Guests mention the hot tub in their reviews more than almost anything else — 22 times on Airbnb at last count, second only to the views.

The sauna and the fire

Step through the glass door beside the hot tub and you're outside. The sauna is right there: glass-front, cedar-warm, looking straight into the trees. A few steps further is the fire area, where most couples end up on their first night with a drink from the kitchen. Hot tub, sauna, fire, repeat. That's the evening routine at Serenity Villa.

The views

The villa has three separate balconies and a rooftop deck, and every one of them faces the valley. Morning coffee on the upstairs balcony is the thing guests write to us about most. "The view from all of the balconies was incredible," one VRBO guest put it, and Airbnb reviews mention the view 34 times.

The lower deck is the quiet one. That's where the hummingbird feeders are, and if you sit still for ten minutes in the morning you'll have company. "You'll love being entertained by the hummingbirds each morning," a guest wrote after a five-night stay in May.

The bedroom

Upstairs. One bedroom, one king bed, and we did not cut corners on it: a king Nectar mattress dressed in Cariloha bamboo and organic viscose sheets, with extra throws and pillows in the room. Guests tell us it's the best sleep they've had in years. The full bathroom is on the same floor with a spacious shower, fresh towels, and toiletries.

One thing to know: the bedroom and bathroom are both on the second floor, up an interior staircase, so the villa isn't a fit for anyone who needs to avoid stairs. The walk from parking to the front door is flat and well lit.

The living room

Cozy, comfortable, and built around two things. First, a SONOS sound system that fills the space. Second, a digital pinball machine with more than 1,300 pinball tables and 1,000+ jukebox music videos loaded on one machine. We put it in as a fun extra and it turned into one of the most talked-about things in the house. Fair warning: there are couples who planned to spend the evening in the hot tub and spent it playing pinball instead.

The kitchen

Fully equipped. Full-size refrigerator, oven, stovetop, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker and kettle, toaster, blender, ice maker, and every dish and utensil you'll need. Cook a full dinner or keep the fridge stocked for the week. There's also a Margaritaville drink maker, which gets more use than we expected.

The practical stuff

A full laundry room with washer, dryer, and detergent. Wi-Fi and a dedicated workspace if one of you has to check in with the office. Air conditioning and heat. Free driveway parking for four vehicles with room for a boat trailer, because Norris Lake is five minutes away and a lot of our guests bring one.

Who we are

We're Mario and Andrea. We built Serenity Villa on our own property and opened it in 2025. We respond within the hour, and we've hosted more than 80 couples so far with a 4.99 rating on Airbnb and a perfect 10 out of 10 on VRBO. When a guest had a small issue with the fire pit last summer, we handled it the same evening; his review is the one that says "hosts thought of everything."
